Light Magic is one of the two essences of magic, the other is Dark Magic, they appear in all types of magic, featured on ABC's "Once Upon A Time" and "Once Upon A Time in Wonderland".

Practitioners of light magic are able to overcome dark magic and render practitioners of darkness defenseless. While practicing or harnessing light magic, one must keep a compassionate heart, primarily by keeping their thoughts and feelings clear of all negativity.
Generally, only Saviors can use light magic, although there have been exceptions with other magic users. According to the Blue Fairy, Fairy Magic is the purest of all light magic. This is understandable, as fairies are always seen as the embodiment of goodness and always help others.
However, light magic can transform into dark magic, as when the user has committed a evil act; like when Nimue corrupted her Holy Grail magic by using her powers for evil, which is killing someone, or Fiona corrupts her light Fairy Magic when trying to crush Tiger Lily's heart, and becomes and known as the Black Fairy.
A practitioner of Dark Magic can also turn to Light Magic if they become as good again as Regina.
